Our physician owned practice is committed to providing the highest quality care for our patients. Individualized and personal care for your child’s health needs is of greatest importance to us. We have been in practice for over 50 years seeing children from birth through age 21. We provide expert well baby visits, physical exams, sports physicals, and travel visits. We are knowledgeable in the needs of patients with asthma, allergies, behavioral issues, acne, attention deficit disorder and weight concerns. In addition, we can evaluate acute illnesses and injuries with same day appointments. We participate with most major insurance providers.

    Dr. Tolu Akinmade joined Pediatric Associates in July 2020. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and her Doctor of Medicine degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, N.J. She completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.j. Dr Akinmade maintains affiliations with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and TV shows, reading, traveling, sightseeing and spending time with family and friends.

Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Engel has served as a Primary Care Physician at Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County since 2005.     Dr. Terisa Flick earned her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, and her Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. She continued her training with a Pediatric Internship and Residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.     Dr. Jessica Howard earned her Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, and her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She continued her training with a Pediatric Residency at Inova Children’s Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, where she was named Pediatric Resident of the Month in April 2012. Board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Howard has been on staff at Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County since August 2013. She is a member of numerous organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association and Sigma Sigma Phi, the national honor society for Osteopathic Medicine practitioners. Dr. Howard has been active in many community service and outreach programs, including providing school physicals to children in Northern Virginia through the Virginia Health Department’s Free Clinic, and providing free health care to local residents through the Virginia Rural Health Association in Christiansburg, Virginia.

    MD, FAAP

    Dr. Earlene Jordan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology magna cum laude from the University of Maryland at College Park, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She continued her training with a Pediatric Residency at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Jordan serves as the Medical Director of Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County. She maintains an affiliation with Holy Cross Hospital and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Dr. Jordan is interested in involving the family when generating a treatment plan for patients, and advocates preventive medicine routines such as sleep, exercise, diet and stress control. She has extensive experience in the treatment of allergies, asthma and behavioral conditions. Active in numerous professional organizations, Dr. Jordan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Montgomery/Prince Georges County Pediatric Society, Maryland Medical Society and Children’s National Health Network, among others.   • Samuel Leibowitz

    MD, FAAP

    Dr. Samuel Leibowitz earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He continued his training with a Pediatric Internship and Residency at the Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Leibowitz has been practicing at Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County since 2003. He brings an abundance of experience from his background in solo and small group pediatric practices. Dr Leibowitz devotes a great deal of effort into developing patient information sheets on a wide range of pediatric topics which patients have found very useful for reinforcing information discussed during office visits. He maintains affiliations with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  • Noel V. Pesce,

    MD, FAAP

    Dr. Pesce joined Pediatric Associates in 2008. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine then moved to Washington, DC for his Pediatric Residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children in Falls Church, Virginia. Following residency training, he went on to complete a clinical fellowship year in Adolescent Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also earned a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through eCornell University. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Pesce has a special interest in Adolescent Medicine, although he enjoys working with children of all ages. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. In his spare time, Dr. Pesce enjoys spending time with his family, trail running, and woodworking.

    Dr. Erik Rubinson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Biological Sciences from the University of Delaware in Newark, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He continued his training with a Pediatric Residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Rubinson currently serves as a Primary Care Pediatrician and Corporate Co-President at Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County, where he has been in practice since 1997. He maintains affiliations with Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. Throughout his career, Dr. Rubinson has received many honors and awards, including the Hahnemann University Award for Child Psychiatry. He has also been involved in numerous research projects relating to health and pediatric care issues, including infantile autism. Dr. Rubinson is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and holds membership in the Montgomery County Medical Society, Montgomery-Prince George’s Pediatric Society and Phi Lambda Kappa Medical Fraternity.

    Dr. Henry Sakai earned both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He continued his training with a Pediatric Internship and Residency at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Sakai is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, where he serves on the Medical Staff Leadership Committee. He is also affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, where he has served as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and on the Medical Executive Committee. The recipient of many honors and awards throughout his career, Dr. Sakai was named to Washingtonian Top Docs of 2014.   • Ann Starchman,

    MD, FAAP

    Dr. Ann Starchman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. She continued her training in the Pediatrics Residency Program at the Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Starchman then worked in Community-Based Pediatrics and taught medical students and residents at the University of Chicago. Dr. Starchman joined Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County as a board certified Pediatrician in 2007. She is currently affiliated with both Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Dr. Starchman serves on multiple pediatric committees within the Department of Pediatrics at Holy Cross Hospital. Also active in professional organizations, Dr. Starchman is a Fellow of both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics. In her spare time, Dr. Starchman enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

  • Eugene Sussman,

    Dr. Sussman was one of the earliest partners of Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County. After more than four decades with Pediatric Associates, Dr. Sussman retired from practice in June 2020. He has been greatly enjoying his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

  • Bonnie Zetlin-Harte,

    MD, FAAP

    Dr. Bonnie Zetlin-Harte earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Basis of Behavior cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. She continued her medical training with a Residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Zetlin-Harte joined Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County in 1993. She is an active member of both the American Medical Association and American Academy of Pediatrics. In her free time, Dr. Zetlin-Harte enjoys running, playing the piano, listening to music and participating in a variety of sports.

  • Elizabeth Hall,

    CPNP

    Elizabeth Hall earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2006 before going on to earn an additional Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from John’s Hopkins University in 2008. Elizabeth then pursued her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Nursing, which she completed in 2015. Upon graduating with her M.S. in Nursing, Elizabeth earned the title of “Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.” Elizabeth not only brings an abundant educational resume with her to Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County but real, hands-on experience as well. While studying at John’s Hopkins University, Elizabeth also worked at John’s Hopkins Hospital as the acting charge nurse. During this time, Elizabeth demonstrated her strong leadership skills as the acting chair of the Patient Care Committee and the Staff Education Committee. After leaving John’s Hopkins, Elizabeth worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for a Pediatric Center helping youth from birth through adulthood. Elizabeth’s passion for civic engagement runs deep. Elizabeth has been involved in a variety of medical activism roles ranging from acting as the floor representative for Children’s Center Building Bridges Project to providing nutrition counseling to women, children, and infants.

  • Ambyr E. Klink,

    Ambyr Klink earned her Masters of Science in Nurse Practitioning from the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Nursing. Prior to receiving her Master’s degree, Ambyr studied nursing at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Ambyr brings dedicated and high quality nursing experience to Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County. Before joining our team of medical professionals, Ambyr worked in Columbia, Maryland as a pediatric nurse practitioner. By treating children ages 0-21 with medical concerns ranging from urgent care needs to basic health education, Ambyr’s experience supersedes others in her field. Ambyr has received several certifications including her Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification via PNCB, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification, and CPR certification. Additionally, Ambyr is the recipient of the Outstanding Nursing Leadership award from Shepherd University. Ambyr enjoys helping others and has taken on many leadership rolls in her career including her co-management position at the Epilepsy Collaboration with the Parents Place of Maryland.

    Sarah Lartey earned her bachelor’s degree in Geography and African Studies from Middlebury College. She worked for several years in healthcare consulting before going on to earn an additional bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. Sarah then pursued her master’s degree in Nursing from Hopkins, graduating as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Sarah not only brings her educational experience with her to Pediatric Associates of Montgomery County; she also brings experience working with patients and families at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and in pediatric urgent care. Sarah enjoys working with families to help them live healthier lives through empowering parents and children with knowledge about overall wellness. Sarah is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, is a member of the Sigma Tau Theta nursing honor society and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and two children, exploring the globe and spending time experimenting in the kitchen.
